List of the 23773 pterygot species in Turkey based upon the info-system of the Cesa. Priamus (Suppl.) 32: 1-876.
This report deals with the present results of the Entomofauna studies in Turkey. Totally 23773 species are given. The major orders and their species numbers are as follows: Lepidoptera (5363), Diptera (3317), Hymenoptera (5097), Coleoptera (6159), and the rest of the pterygot orders (3837). Separately, 6562 generic names are listed with their synonyms. This report is based upon the field studies as well as the literary data. Totally, 4623 publications are listed alphabetically. Dangerous studying conditions in Turkey is discussed and links are given for online access.
